Kirk Melnikoff Wins 2013 Hoffman Prize
Dr. Kirk Melnikoff, associate professor of English, won the 2013 Calvin& Rose G. Hoffman Prize for a Distinguished Publication on Christopher Marlowe, which is the most prestigious award in the area of Christopher Marlowe studies. Melnikoff won this award for an essay he wrote titled “Flaskett and Linley’s Tragedy of Dido Queen of Carthage.” This award includes a monetary prize and an invitation to deliver a lecture at The King’s School in Canterbury.
The Hoffman Prize was established by the late Calvin Hofmann and funded by trust fund that he endowed. This competitive prize is administered by The King’s School in Canterbury and is open to all scholars throughout the world.
