Eric Heberlig on appointment of new FEMA interim director
Eric Heberling, professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, was quoted in ABC News 4’s profile, ‘Trump appointed new FEMA interim director Cameron Hamilton.’
Ahead of his visit to Asheville, President Trump’s administration has appointed former Navy SEAL Cameron Hamilton as the new interim FEMA director. Hamilton, who attended Campbell University outside Raleigh, has no experience working for FEMA or running a federal emergency agency, and has criticized FEMA’s response to Hurricane Helene.
“President Trump has appointed a number of people who are prominent critics of their agencies to lead those agencies,” said Heberlig. “This is part of his attempt to shake things up.”
