Documentary screening and panel discussion of Charlotte history: ‘A Binding Truth’

The College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences and the Film Studies program are proud to present a special screening and panel discussion of “A Binding Truth.”

The critically acclaimed documentary, directed by Louise Woehrle, follows the journey through Charlotte, NC of Jimmie Lee Kirkpatrick, a Black former football star, and De Kirkpatrick, a white classmate at Myers Park High School in 1965.

The film reveals a shocking, shared ancestral connection, exploring the legacy of slavery, race, and the path to healing.

Special guests Director Woehrle, Jimmie Lee Kirkpatrick and De Kirkpatrick will participate in a panel discussion following the screening of the film.

The event is free and open to the public.
