- Loy Witherspoon, professor emeritus, religious studies, was featured on WSOC-TV in the story, “UNC Charlotte Inspired By The Remarkable Vision Of A Mathematician,” about Bonnie Cone. (June 29) He was also quoted in the Charlotte Observer regarding “Atheists bring out fearful side of faith.” (Aug. 3)
- Akin Ogundiran, Africana studies, and India Solomon, Africana studies graduate, are featured in the Charlotte Post article “UNC Charlotte, preservation group partner to restore cemetery.” (June 29)
- Iain Ross Bolton, political science, was a guest on News-Talk 1110 WBT, discussing “The Obama Administration comes out with the new National Space Policy.” (July 1)

- Vivian Lord, criminal justice and criminology, was interviewed by NewsChannel 36 regarding “Chief Rodney Monroe talks about officer involved shooting.” (July 2)
- John Szmer, political science, was a guest on WFAE’s “Charlotte Talks,” talking about “Separation of Church and State.” (July 7)
- Ryan P. Kilmer, psychology, was quoted in the APA Monitor in an article regarding “Treating traumatized children.” (July 8)
- Greg Gbur, physics, and his blog were featured in the Charlotte Observer article, “A fun mix of science, physics, a bit of fiction.” (July 19)
- Schley Lyons, former dean of CLAS, was memorialized in the Charlotte Observer story, “UNCC’s Schley Lyons dies at age 77.” (July 19)
