Council Structure

The Alumni Council will provide value by:
- Increasing alumni representation and involvement with CHESS and UNC Charlotte
- Serving as ambassadors in the community and at alumni events
- Creating meaningful connections with students through networking, short-term mentoring conversations, and career exploration opportunities
- Supporting Development efforts to advance CHESS and its students
- Connecting with faculty and staff for mentoring and project involvement
- Supporting the importance of a degrees found within CHESS.
Internal
- Recognizing alumni accomplishments through awards and other promotion
- Supporting development goals of Advancement and the College
- Succession planning
External
- Supporting events organized by Advancement and the College (usually by welcoming community members and alumni who attend events)
- Participating in initiatives of Advancement and the College (NNW, NNG, Celebration of Commencement, tailgates, etc.)
- Steering Council priorities
The CHESS Alumni Council shall hold four quarterly meetings per year. Any member who is absent from two Council meetings shall be considered to have resigned unless otherwise determined by the leadership team. Council meetings shall last 1.5 hours unless otherwise noted.
