Students’ Achievements Recognized at Annual Awards Ceremony
Of the ten exemplary students who were acknowledged during the annual university Honors and Awards Program held in mid-April, 3 are majors in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. The awards recognize students’ outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, community service and leadership.
Ashley Peterson (Anthropology) was among the students who received the Chancellor’s Citation for Leadership and Service, presented by Chancellor Philip L. Dubois. The honor recognized an elite group of graduating seniors for their outstanding leadership and commitment to the campus community. Their contributions have helped enrich the college experience for fellow students and develop good citizens and stewards for the future.
Elias Coye Still IV (History) received the Provost’s Athletic Academic Achievement Honor from Joan Lorden; it is given to a student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom while bringing recognition to the University through his or her performance as a Charlotte 49ers athlete.
Akeisha Moseley (Communication Studies) received the Chuck Lynch Award, which was presented by Arthur Jackson, vice chancellor for student affairs. The award recognizes student leadership in building relationships and programs while mentoring others to reach their maximum potential.
