Students’ Achievements Recognized at Annual Awards Ceremony
Of the ten exemplary students who were acknowledged during the annual university Honors and Awards Program held in mid-April, 3 are majors in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. The awards recognize students’ outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, community service and leadership.
Communication Studies Major Receives Fulbright Grant
Celia Karp, a communication studies major and member of the inaugural class of Levine Scholars, has received a Fulbright grant, one of three UNC Charlotte students to receive Fulbright grants for 2014-15.

Kilmer Receives Harshini V. de Silva Graduate Mentor Award
In recognition of his deep commitment to mentoring graduate students, Ryan Kilmer, professor of psychology, has received the 2014 Harshini V. de Silva Graduate Mentor Award. Brannon Receives Award for Article on Writing
Lil Brannon, a UNC Charlotte English professor, has received the 2014 Richard Braddock Award for the most outstanding article on writing or the teaching of writing published in a journal widely regarded as the top journal in rhetoric and composition.

Kirk Melnikoff Wins 2013 Hoffman Prize
Dr. Kirk Melnikoff, associate professor of English, won the 2013 Calvin& Rose G. Hoffman Prize for a Distinguished Publication on Christopher Marlowe, which is the most prestigious award in the area of Christopher Marlowe studies.
