Long-time Geography and Earth Sciences Faculty Member Passes Away
Longtime UNC Charlotte colleague and Professor Emeritus Alfred (Al) Wright Stuart passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 after a brief illness. He was a retired member of the faculty of the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences.
College Colleagues Remember Morton Shapiro
UNC Charlotte’s Morton Shapiro, 84, who retired as a member of the English faculty in 1993, died on September 11, 2015. He was one of the university’s original English Department faculty, and will be fondly remembered by his friends, colleagues, and students.
Community Mourns Death of History Alumnus in Train Derailment
Derrick Griffith, a UNC Charlotte alumnus who was completed his bachelor’s degree in history and was an outstanding student leader in the early 1990s, has been identified as one of seven people killed in an Amtrak train derailment in Philadelphia on Tuesday, May 12, as the train headed to New York.
