Honors & Awards

UNC Charlotte geography student Ray Atkinson was one of the 12 community leaders to win a Community Sustainability Award earlier in April, presented by Sustain Charlotte, which announced the winners at the 7th Street Public Market in uptown Charlotte. Atkinson received recognition for his work with the UNC Charlotte Cyclists Club.

Christina Neitzey, a junior from Hampstead who is majoring in psychology and criminal justice, has been chosen for the Newman Civic Fellows Award.

Joanne Robinson from the Department of Religious Studies in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences was among the 17 recipients of the UNC Board of Governors Award for Teaching Excellence.

Two lecturers who are known for their dedication to students have been named recipients of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences awards for teaching excellence among lecturers.
