“From the Back of the Line” Film Premieres
“From the Back of the Line,” a documentary film exploring the impact of immigration policies on mixed-immigration status families in Charlotte, premiered on Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at UNC Charlotte Center City, 320 E. 9th Street.
Graduates’ Stories Serve as Inspiration
College of Liberal Arts & Sciences student Hannah Martin received a standing ovation from fellow students and other audience members at UNC Charlotte’s commencement on Dec. 15, when she joined Chancellor Philip L. Dubois and Dean Nancy A. Gutierrez before the crowd in the Dale F. Halton Arena.
Forensics Team Brings Home Awards
The UNC Charlotte Forensics team brought home team and individual awards from the Collegiate Forensic Association Holiday Forensics Tournament in early December, placing sixth overall. Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown, Virginia hosted the tournament.
Model UN Team Wins Top Awards at National Competition
The UNC Charlotte Model United Nations team in late October brought home two of the top awards presented at the National Model United Nations Conference in Washington, D.C., winning an Outstanding Delgation Award and a Position Paper Award.
Sept. 15 Memorial Planned for Religious Studies Student Jordan Slusher
A memorial is scheduled in honor of Jordan Slusher, a religious studies student in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences who died this summer. The memorial will be at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, at Cone University Center, McKnight Hall.

The community is in mourning following the death on June 9 of religious studies and psychology major Jordan Daniel Slusher, 21, of Gastonia.
